Will 3M VHB Tape damage fiberglass?

It is somewhat sensitive to chemicals. If it is a thickish version, you can get thin wire (like piano wire) underneath and saw through the tape. Now it is exposed and a little acetone or MEK or something will soften the adhesive. Not a job I would volunteer for, but it is usually doable.
