My previous camper was a Jayco 29BHS G2 5800 lb dry I towed it fine with this configuration on the truck. I should be ok with this. I am upgrading to a Reese dual cam hitch from the friction sway control I was using.

I would say no. For that much trailer I would want max payload option or the F250. Expect you to be over payload and rear axle rating. No fun at all.

Lots of nice trailers under 6k empty.

By running the 35" tires you dropped your effective rear axle ratio down to 3.3? or so. You have less than 7700 lbs for tow capacity.

Thanks guys I think I am gonna opt for a 30 footer with a dry weight of 5500 to 6000 lb.

Will it?? Probably will, but far from ideal. It won't be an enjoyable experience, due to too much trailer length/weight, and loss of gearing from over sized tires/wheels.

I have the same truck in the Lariat trim. That short wheelbase with the 5.5' bed isn't the most optimum. My experience, towing a smaller and lighter TT, is that you'll get pushed around if you get any side wind. It was slow going (55 mph to stay in control) across Kansas a couple of years ago, and white knuckle time when those FedEx doubles pass you at 65-70 mph. Sure seemed to be a lot of them out there.

I'm leaning w/ ShinerBock on the new truck aspect. Your current truck is going on 8-9 years old and while it may be in good shape, everything else still has "X" miles on it and still 8-9 years old. OR if what everyone else says is true about the amount of weight you can TOW, then you could probly get by for a year or 2 then get a new(er) truck. If you think your going to be towing a lot, opt for the 5.0 w/ 3.73 gears. Can go 1 step further and get a 250 gasser and know you'll be set weight wise w/ things and a more robust TV.
