Will my application work?

I'm new to the RV arena. I'm narrowing my options for purchase of a travel trailer to use 2 or 3 times per year to attend hobby shows. I have a 2015 F-150 supercrew cab/short bed with tow pkg, 3.5 ecoboost. I believe the truck is rated to tow 11,700lbs. I'm looking at a 37' trailer with a dry weight of 8600 lbs. The more research I do online, the more info. I find is required. I'm having a tough time finding all the specs. I've towed many trailers in my life, most recently an enclosed car trailer. I have a Reese sway bar kit. I don't think I should have any problem. Common sense tells me all should be fine. Anyone provide any major concerns that I'm missing? Thank you!

Ditto on that, why would you need such a huge trailer to attend a few 3 day shows during the year? I'd look at TT in the below 30 ft range. If you need a lot of space for storing your artwork the think about a toyhauler. But does 10 days a year of motel costs add up to the cost of that TT? You need to add in costs for the place you park the TT and the greatly reduced fuel mileage you'll get hauling it.
  • Sorry, common sense tells me your crazy. Towing a 37 foot sail with a 150 if simply NUTS.
From that rated 11,700 pound towing rating you need to start subtracting, stuff you add to the truck above one 150 pound driver. Then you have to think about trying to handle that monster in cross winds. Plane foolish! Start thinking about towing a 20-25 foot trailer. Then you would have a fighting chance of safely handling the load.
  • Just an opinion and not knowing your situation, but seems like a lot of trailer for attending a few hobby shows. But you know more.
