That's right, those truck engineers don't know nothing. You need an F-350 to haul a pop-up. Otherwise you'll destroy you're truck by lugging.
And there ya go...a perfect example of taking something out of context.:h
Strain/lugging/heat...all these things matter whether you like it or not. I appreciate longevity of vehicles. If I traded in my truck every few years, I wouldn't really care. But I go 30K miles on average per year, and both of my "everyday" trucks have over 200K miles on them and run nearly perfect. I don't make a habit of hauling heavy loads with my 1/2 ton gas truck, nor do I make a habit of dinking around town in my 1 ton diesel. Consistently straining your truck will kill it, plain and simple. That's not even a point worth arguing.
