We used a "Wind Bugger" when we lived aboard in the Caribbean, with a 15+ knot wind speed it was very effective. However it was noisy! Solar required constant wiping to remove salt spray which quickly reduced the output. I find the solar ideal for our TC and have seen a few small wind turbines on beach rigs used mostly to power small medical gear. To get the kind of power we need in our TC I think the noise level and steady wind speeds of 15+knots (Pretty much the minimum required) limits wind powers practicality. Prolly technology will over come these short comings, eventually, so that a combo of solar and wind will be useful.
