Wind River by Outdoors RV TT

Went and looked at Blackstone, Wind River and Creekside today. These are the best built and the nicest TT's I have seen in a long time. Quality of fit and finish looks like the units will last many years. Plenty of storage, frame and suspension is tops. A very nice front cap, just needs a rear cap. Propane cover is a little weak. Their top line Blackstone is tops but I like the Wind River. The front kitchen and rear dinette units work the best for me but the front kitchen starts with almost 1000 tongue weight and would only get heavier when loaded. The dealer said that my Sunnybrook will sell quick. Sooooooo, I can spent the bucks or keep my Sunnybrook and have about 30K for travel and repairs to spend. I am in no hurry to make the jump.

We have a Timber Ridge 250RDS and love it. We have only taken a week long trip so far but have been very pleased so far. The only problem we had was the outdoor light didn't work.

That floorplan doesn't have much counter space either. The 250RDSW has a much a better kitchen with more cupboards for food storage. We also like the rear kitchen model 240RKSW, but are looking for a Timber Ridge.

If it's just food storage you need, as you do most of your cooking outdoors, I've seen people with boxes and boxes of kitchen stuff in their pass through area.

"Different strokes for different folks", I guess. A lot of people only go camping on the weekend and cook outside mostly. But we're looking for something to live in for a couple of months down in Florida so want a functional kitchen. One of the good things about the Timber Ridge and WindRiver models is the 8cuft frig. And I think all Outdoors RV have the 22" stove.

Bummer,,, there doesn't look like there is a pantry in the Windriver 250RLSW. Just where do you put the food? I don't think there is an excuse for not having a pantry in a TT of that size and price.

We have a 2011 Wind River 230rks and have had it since new in 2010. We have put over 6,000 miles and 50+ nights in traveling all over the northwest and we have been quite pleased with it. Like all TT, doesn't mean there aren't items to be repaired/replaced from time to time, but we have had no serious issues with it.
Only had one minor warranty issue and that was some rusting hub caps on the wheels which the dealer replaced with a newer style that was being shipped on the 2012 units.
Ours has the double pane window option and with the 4 season package, it is quiet, AC is able to keep it cool in the summer and it doesn't take much heat to keep it warm in the winter.

Thought I'd add, we love our 2013 Outdoors RV Timber Ridge 270dbhs 31' TT. I too looked at Arctic Fox,KZ,Jayco,Keystone,and Komfort. But came back to Outdoors RV.
Only used ours 3X since late Summer 2012. Appreciate the larger,and covered tank sizes, plus offroad frame and suspension. Already had the TV ,so first time TT choice was limited. Several minor warranty issues, but all handled by dealer. Price point and features A+

We have a 2012 Outdoors RV Creekside 26BKS and so far we love it. I researched travel trailers for a little over a year including a few phone calls to Outdoors RV before I purchased and found Outdoors Rv was the best fit for what we wanted. Good luck.

We have the same model as the OP ,on order and is coming off the assembly line next Wed. Love everything about the trailer! Can't wait to pick it up.

If you want a well manufactured, four season, rugged and off-road capable trailer, it's pretty hard to go wrong with the Northwood based trailers from Oregon, IMHO.

Outdoors RV uses chassis frames from Northwood but they tend to be lighter than Northwood's Artic Fox line, which is why I prefer them (won't have to get a new truck). Currently the Timber Ridge 240RKS is our favourite in a 26-28' trailer. Unfortunately for us the Wind River line doesn't have anything under 29'10".

I spent some time with one of the factory Rep's at an RV show this past weekend. The tires are now 10 ply range D Goodyear Marathons. The roof and floor insulation is rated at R29 and the low point drains are above the enclosed underbelly to allow for colder climate use. They have made 120 changes to their trailers based on customer input in the last 2 years.New models will have Trailair suspension equalizers Plus shocks. There will be 2 new floor plan models next year to accomodate larger closet space. I was impressed with the blackstone and the windriver! I will definitely be looking at Outdoor RV next time I buy a new trailer.
