One of the things many folks under estimate is weight.
From the day I brought my F-150 home. I added a 250 lb. fiberglass cap, a 50 lb. tool box, 50 lbs. of personal gear such as umbrella, GPS, CDs, fishing gear and stuff to my daily driver. So I have used up 300 lbs. of my 1411 lb. Max cargo.
To this we add 40 lbs. of gasoline, 80 lbs. of bicycles, electronic gadgets, grill, chairs etc. Then on long trips, add another 60 lbs for an extra battery, LP tank and such.
So now I have used almost 500 lbs of my 1411 lb. Max cargo and I have not added dog stuff, dog, passenger, road snacks etc. To all of this I add the tongue weight.
The point of all this rambling is to answer the OPs question. I would go with the best floor plan, but only AFTER I had weighed my loaded the road, TV. The CAT is a real eye opener.
