Winter Tips

Will be taking the family and Lance 991 to New Mexico for a ski trip. We are planning on staying at the Angle Fire resort. Little concerned about the freezing weather. Tanks are heated in the camper. Plan on using fresh water rather than hookups. I have a heat strip installed in the A/C. Hoping to avoid any catastrophes if possible. Any suggestions appreciated.
  • Check list the items:
    Thin socks
    Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses
    Good walking shoes
    Après ski clothes
    Pain reliever
  • I've got family in the area and have been thinking about staying there, assuming you are referring to the new RV park. I will use our 5th wheel but reading your post I got to wondering if they allow truck campers. Looking on their website under "Rates and Policies" I don't see truck campers listed as approved RV's. You may want to call them. There is another RV park in Angel Fire.
  • You might call the ski resort office directly and ask if you can stay overnight in their parking lot. Most will let you do so. More than 8 years ago, that is what we did. See if they still do this.

I don't recall if this ski resort had electrical only hookups. You may be lucky.
