I use compressed air and have never had a problem. Here is something to keep in mind, if a very small amount of water is left behind it will not harm anything. Some will disagree and certainly the anti-freeze method works very well too, but there are plenty of people who use only compressed air and have never had a problem. For the pump, I disconnect the hose at the pump inlet and let it run dry for about 30 seconds. Again, never a problem.
