Compressed air works just fine as long as done properly. We've been fine in around 14F temps.
The piping system is designed for a min. of 100 psi. - I use 45 psi, 25 psi is rather low tho. I use a blowout plug like in the pic below as this way I can walk around from faucet to faucet myself. You want a compressor that will have enough flow (cfm) to maintain the psi that you use. I use an air tool pancake compressor. I've read a few say that the compressed air can be contaminated but it's a pretty small amount of air you need.
You *could* always go back the next day and see if you can blow anymore air out but when I tried that once, the lines were empty.
Don't forget things like the outside shower, black tank flusher line and FW pump. Also removal of filters which either be tossed or kept inside your house (depending on type and cost). I leave the FW tank and low point drain valves open all winter. Same with holding tank valves (after thorough cleaning) or you can close the valves and put in a cup or two of antifreeze.
Then finish off with a little propylene glycol based antifreeze in the P-traps and toilet.
