Wiring relays

So i'm having a moment here. I want to wire a relay to send power to the back of the truck can't the description is a bit vague.

Relay

No, i don't need that much capacity but i figure why not. Anyway, would this go into the positive line(the 2 lower lugs) to the back of the truck and that's it? Then just a negative line back to the truck battery? Am i thinking this right?
  • I don't know, maybe I'm not understanding what he's trying to do, but your going to need a switch to operate the relay anyways (otherwise it's always on or always off) so just get a switch of the proper size and be done with it.

Well because you can only run so much on a circuit before you over load a switch.

    Take my Backup lights.
I have halogen backup light on both my TV and 5er! If I tried to run all six of my backup off of the stock backup circuit for power I would be blowing fuses all the time. Instead both sets are on relays, and grab power for a large circuit.

I'd like to use the line to charge the tongue battery and would like to be able to turn it on and off as needed. I was expecting the possibility of a high amperage which was why i figure the relay would be easiest as well as more reliable.
