WISDOM OF A HITCH EXTENSTION

I speak from experience on this matter as I had a Lance camper and to tow my boat I had to get a hitch extender. All I was towing was a 19ft Bass boat behind my truck and my hitch extension was 18 inches and it cracked the hitch on my truck. I had a ¾ ton Chevy with a hitch rated for 1200 LBS tongue weight and 12,000 lbs. trailer weight. My boat probably had only 200lbs tongue weight so I really don’t recommend and extension of any kind, I would really hate for you to break your hitch while towing a TT. There are some hitches out there that you can get so you can use an extension like the Reese 2 1/2" Titan. Just do your research it may feel like it tows fine but trust me those extensions put some serious strain on your hitch
