And they say you should never do these things alone!
PapPappy wrote:OK, but if I wasn't tough enough up there in the hills to do it I don't think I'm much better at sea level.
Heat you while you're splitting it, and again when it's in the wood-stove!

Chinook Pass is one of my favorites. Nice report. Don't kill yourself up there!
Raften wrote:I asked to do that but Les Schwab will not mount LT tires on a 15inch rim. They will on a 16 inch rim with 8 lug centers. Must be a liability issue, I don't know.
Once I put on LT tires I never had a problem again with tires.

The burned trees were sad.

And those little bees hurt no doubt..

Prorated, not full, I'd imagine.

We have a lot of trees on our farm and would hate to be harvesting them in couple years because I brought hitch hikers home in my wood. I did not see a single bug or beetle though. But that doesn't mean they aren't in the wood.
The bug infestation and management are an odd bird it seems.

Really good writing!! Very interesting.
kohldad wrote:Thanks, and I'll take it a bit easier next time. And thanks for you trip reports, I believe I've read some of yours in the past and enjoyed them.
Nice trip report on a bright idea.
I've written journals of all our family camping trips and my business trips for 20 years, I have quite a stack of printed versions as well as burned to a CD. Started with a hand written diary, then progressed with computers and digital photography. Some of my stuff is on my web sight linked in my signature. We roll with a Suburban and a 30' travel trailer as well as what you've seen here.
Thanks everyone for the kind words if you have subscribed to the thread. Hans
