May 27, 2016My chocks do get dirty/muddy from time to time. I put a big rope handle on them so my wife can keep her hands clean if she's the one that's pulling them. We normally avoid soft areas so I haven't had problems with sinking. I have had them freeze to the ground though. It took a few hammer blows to get them off. I didn't think about chocking on plastic blocks, that would be pretty difficult. Back when I was using boards for leveling, I can say that the chocks didn't work as well as they do now. I've since switched to rubber pads and the chocks stick to them well.
Maybe I'll build a pair to see how well it works with the current setup. I don't get much wiggle now, but it's not rock solid either. I got to say SoundGuy makes some pretty good points about why regular chocks are still necessary. I don't think I would ever give up all of mine entirely since they've come in handy for the truck at times.
