Xm radio blocked by camper

I think I'm just going to get the separate XM radio/remote mag antenna so I can use it in my other vehicles and home. It ties into the vehicle radio via Bluetooth.

What I’m really interested in is where is the xm unit in a 2015 Silverado

a friend of mine uses an antenna that is mounted near his front left headlight on the hood area. it is about the size of a fifty cent piece and it works very well. I have no idea where he got it. I guess if you can't locate one PM me and I will ask him

So how do you disconnect it when you remove the camper? Unplug it from the radio or do you have a disconnect somewhere in the line?

I put mine underneath my bug deflector. It can not be seen unless you are looking for it and it works great there.

I did something very similar except I went through an existing grommet in the firewall close to the steering column. The magnet antenna sits on the front driver's side fender. I don't even bother hooking up the factory antenna when the camper's off anymore.

Probably would be best to go all the way to the back of the radio and unplug the XM antenna and replace it all the way from there.
