well, two things I know.
1) if it is a factory install for the XM with onstar, and you have the antenna on the roof, if water gets past the seal corrosion can mess up XM, GPS, and Onstar. Had that happen on my 2015 denali.
2) XM uses GEOS sat's. that means if you can't get a clear view of the southern sky, likely no reception. that's a BIG problem in our area. lots of times we travel east/west with hills or mountains to the close south. cuts in and out.
