Sad to say that many dealerships do not employ people who are willing to take a couple of hours to research the vehicles, or the employees would know more about the cars and trucks than the customers who read for a hour online or a magazine article about the vehicle in question!
I once test drove a Dodge V10 and asked the salesperson "What can it tow". He had no clue, and said something like 7,500 pounds! It was a great truck probably with a 15,000+ tow rating. I only did the test drive to get the free something they offered in the postcard sent to my house.
Good luck finding a better dealership to work with.
