You can order a 2015 F150, but you can't order a 2015 F150

Re: 2015 F!50s: On July 28, FOMO used a tired marketing trick. The company told news media that dealers could now order the new 2015 F150s (wink,wink). In reality, a guy cannot order the truck he wants because capacities and specifications for the new trucks are mostly nonexistent. And they won't be existent for — who knows? Ford did the same thing with the 2015 Mustang: sent out bogus dealer guides (wink, wink) and much later sent out the real guides. So, the best thing to do is wait weeks or months for a new half-ton, or do the honorable thing and buy a Silverado or a Ram.

    What packages did you order and whats the best guess for 2015 specs now that 2014s can no longer be ordered.

    I ordered a 2015 f150, 3.5 eco-boost on July 30. I got a firm price and I signed the order, but put it on hold when I was informed I couldn't get the 3.73 locking rear end I wanted. It's due the way packages are configured, so I'm waiting for the load and towing capacities to be published.

    Your night vision might be going. I'm not saying they aren't related, but I wouldn't mistake one for the other with one eye closed and half asleep.. There isn't a single panel on the truck that hasn't changed, except for perhaps the roof??

    The HD package has a thicker frame in most configurations, which may or may not be of benefit long term. The shocks and springs are different as well, and they do ride a tad stiffer. But just an FYI on the axle ratings...... They are assembly ratings, and the HD currently comes with the same running gear, it is suspended differently, so it is essentially a "spring and shock capacity" rating. I believe the HD pac is not available on FX4's

    No I don't think he is confused. What Ford most likely is doing is letting their dealers pre-order the 2015 F-150 with limited information. Hell I ordered my 2015 Eco-diesel with out knowing the pricing. They dropped the Black Gold and replaced it with a Black Forest Green but no one has a sample of it yet. Manufactures do this all the time.

    I saw a 2015 F150 this morning. It was Crew Cab King Ranch.

    Ironically, it did not look much different than a 2014 except for the taillights. Of course, it was not real light out this morning when I was next to it.

    And if you're looking at a Found On Road Dead, you're looking at an inferior truck. Lookmat the new Ram ecodiesel or the GM for a better truck.

    I am confused trying to figure what your trying to really say.

    I suggest you go back and take a closer look!!

    Whataya work for Ford Marketing? I'm telling you straight up that specifications for the new trucks are mostly nonexistent, and that Ford dealer guides, by which dealers order cars, are therefore inadequate. it means you can order a truck if you don't know or care what you are getting.

    Ford doesn't want to show it's hand 4 months before the first truck can even be sold. Big whoop. The first 2015 F-150 isn't scheduled to roll off the line until October 20th, and that's if there aren't any delays. It's kinda sad hearing a grown man whine....
