Roflmao…..How fresh is the 6.0? What kind of question is that? Hahaha, assuming it’s already been replaced or gone through…..wow, where do I sign up for one of these beauties?
Im being slightly sarcastic, but the OP is a glutton for punishment. 2 engine replacements in recent years and turd on the 2nd replacement, which now became someone else’s issue…..hopefully at least jammed it full of stop leak so it doesn’t loose its coolant and overheat next week….
Then to literally move into one of the two most trouble prone engines of the light duty diesel world this century when there are soooo many options out there. Let dollars get in the way of sense on this one. Hopefully that 76k mile cream puff (it does look like a very nice truck btw) was cheap. Those truck easily go for about 50% less than a comparable Dmax or Cummins.
At least it’s not a 6.4. I’d take a 6.0 for the right price over a 6.4 all day long.
ya I could have said how many mils on the truck. that is very low milage and if its stock for what he does it will probably be the last truck he will need. I have never seen an 06 dually that clean or that low milage so I assumed there might be 3-400000 miles on that 6L. like I said before there are several stock 6.0L that are million mile motors, the issue came up when you hopped it up. 6.4L could take some hopping up but not as much as the 6.7L so if he is planning on leaving ti stock it should be fine.
if I had the choice between a 07 6.0L and 6.4L I would jump on the 6.4. the head issues were fixed and once you delete them the milage and power is incredible. you will never get that out of A 6.0L. I have friend who has three 6.4L's now between him and his two boys.. the only pain is you have to lift the cab for some jobs but if you have a hoist it takes like 15 min to do he says. that is usually a 10 to 20K (CDN) truck up here but I think that it would get more having that low milage. Up here a dodge is way, way cheaper, they are the cheapest of the big three diesels you can buy, doesn't matter what year. when I bought my true I decided to be no partisan between the big three, the dodge was ruled out immediately, just felt slow and lacking in the power. I know its because the inline 6 doesn't rev as fast but that did it right there for me. I found a dually dmax but they wanted 15K over the blue book value and the sales staff was kind of ignorant when I pointed it out so we left and that truck sat on the lot for 4 months after that. we ended up getting a two year old fully loaded for a steal, about 1/2 price of new F350 platinum. more than we needed but it was 7 years newer than the dmax and it was only 5K more, because of their inflated price. I still wish I had found a dually though.
