Moving an abandoned truck camper.

Pretty interesting the lengths that they had to go to to recover an abandoned squatter's truck camper from deep in the woods.

Skidsteer, car hauler, and a 6x6 military rotator crane.

Oh and before you say why didn't they use a truck, did you see a truck anywhere? This particular tow guy doesn't have any pickup trucks capable of handling this camper. Would you volunteer your diesel dually to run up into those woods to retrieve that camper?
  • We have done similar clean ups and have found the easiest is a side by side with a small trailer and a couple guys cutting with sawzalls. It is amazing how quickly a camper comes apart. Most that are abandoned have been pretty well scavenged and it is basically just the skin and structure and a few cabinets.

You missed the whole part about it being an ABANDONED camper. It's junk, and its ultimate destination is the landfill.

Condition is not a concern whatsoever. There is no saving it.

I watch quite a bit of Casey's channel. Most times the abandoned campers are held for a time, title search ran, and offered for auction. If they where making no effort to preserve the value he could use the skidsteer to compact and load camper onto the rollback, strap it down, have room to haul loader same trip.

I just hope someone salvaged those Atwood jacks.

Doubt it. They got tossed in the back of the camper and they'll go to the landfill with the rest of it.

  • Love the wrecker, not so much their methods.

Not to be critical, but I wouldn't want to hire these guys for anything critical. Mind you, git er done might apply here if it was never going on the road to get where they took it. Obviously the condition of the camper was not a concern.

Another spreader bar would have been nice. Oh, and maybe a tie-down for each corner rather than one strap over the top to break the camper's back.

More stuff to pick apart, but what do I know..... Don't try this at home.
  • That’s more lame than the constant x diesel vs y diesel vids that someone here can’t help but share with the class.
What are you talking about? Guy drug a big traielr in their on smooth roads. Didn’t see anything that I couldn’t get the SRT or Camaro through unscathed. Much less a pickup truck.
Will he really make more $ off of YooToob hits than it cost to go get that camper? Cause a gallon of old gas, a match and a pickup truck for what isn’t ashes come spring time seems a lot easier.
