Forum Discussion
Few issues..when forum moved to this new format everything was merged under the travel trailer group, all the links broken.
IE the original TCU thread was http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25966285.cfm
With forum change it became https://community.goodsam.com/t5/travel-trailer-group/truck-camper-university-projects-repairs-replacements-tips/m-p/270921
Llink has been updated, moved to truck camper group now resides https://community.goodsam.com/t5/truck-camper-group/truck-camper-university-projects-repairs-replacements-tips/m-p/270921
However most of the content is still in travel trailer group and as noted most links don't follow to new address. Some of the TCU links do work and will open original topic but again they are under travel trailer group.
While updating the links wouldn't be that large of task, issues arise as the content is moved from travel trailer to truck camper group. (unless links will auto forward to new directory). Main issue is editing... topics no longer stay open to edit. I briefly looked at updating but...
Same with the trip reports thread.
For the moment if link in TCU doesn't open thread your interested in, you can search using threads title... bottom line IMO is RV.net is more broken than it was. Years of accumulated info very difficult to find.
At this point in time I'm unsure, with the numbers of members active since the forum change, if its worthwhile to make the effort. Second though I know folks used the resource members stopped contributing 2-3 years ago. That and DIY / problem solving doesnt seem to be as prevalent as it once was. I havent totally given up on the forum yet but logging in mostly reinforces what we lost. I havent been enjoying the new forum software, even a little, just a struggle. Keep thinking it will become comfortable...still waiting
Although I was not part of the migration to the new forum, I do have the ability to move threads to different groups. Contact me with links to moves and I will do what I can get them where they belong.
