Truck Tailgate removal and storage
Curious, has anyone seen a lift or similar item used to remove a tailgate and store it? I have a bad back and can no longer lift my tailgate to remove it or replace it. Curious if there is any sort...

I can easily carry my 2000 F-250 tailgate, but the 2006 tailgate is at least double the weight. I was able to get the tailgate off the truck, but I wasn't going to carry it into the garage. I do have a spare hand truck and I set the tailgate on that with pad on the bottom to protect the edge paint of the tailgate. I then took a cargo strap, and strapped the tailgate to the hand truck. I wheeled it into the garage, and there it sits, tethered to the wall, nice and safe till I need it again.
That's how mine is stored also, sitting on a handtruck with a towel on the bottom to prevent paint chipping. A drywall lift would probably work too.
