Turnbuckle blocks gas cap

I have a 2006 Northstar 850SC pop-up in a 2002 F350.  There are Torklift hold downs already mounted on the truck.  Because of the location of the hold down bracket on the 850SC, the turnbuckle on the front driver's side passes directly in front of the gas fill door so I can't open it.  I can't be the only one to have had this problem.  Quik connect turnbuckles the right solution?  Anyone who has addressed this problem, I'd love to hear your solution.

  • youer not, I have to undo that turnbuckle every time I fill up, I am thinking about buying fast guns but as of yet they are to pricy for the small convenience they would give me.

I use the HappiJac system up front to solve that fueling issue, and I can use shorter Fastguns that hold at much better angles preventing any camper movement.  You're going to have to remove your front tie down each and every time you fuel up.

Also, if you move this thread to the Truck Camper part of the forum, you'll get much more exposure to truck camper folks.

  • Same thing on our F-350 with Northstar Arrow. We use the TL Fastguns. With these, it is not an issue. With an optional lock you even  have a secured gas cap.
