what trips are you looking forward to this year?

Last summer we found a nice spot that I am really looking forward to going to again.  its about a 90 min drive up a forestry road (gravel kind of maintained) but its one of the clearest lakes I have ever seen.  the first picture is in about 40 feet of water and it was raining gently while I was out on the paddle board.

There are a few new ones I want to check out this summer also, there is over 100 lakes within a 1 hour drive from me, most, you're not getting in with a normal trailer or motorhome, so its tents and truck campers for the win.

very clear waternice site, 40 feet from the water, lots of shade but the solar worked perfectly still.

  • Only one large one planned so far.  Oregon Coast, inland to the east side Cascades, then south to home.  5-6 weeks total, taking our time.

We have the grandkids for a week, probably go someplace local with them.  We'll spend time at our membership park.  We do that a few times per year, 1-2 weeks at a time.

I love the Oregon coast, feels just like I am camping in BC.  ya we usually take the one grand kid out a couple times, the other one will probably be coming with us soon, I told him when he is using the potty all the time he can come camping haha.   when I lived on Vancouver island, we used to camp every weekend almost all year around when I wasn't at sea.  its kind of dropped off since I retired from that job, but since I got the truck camper 4 years ago it has been picking up again.  we usually do one bigger trip with the 5th wheel then several trips with the camper.

  • Cool pictures, but did you have to post pictures of the grill? I'm waiting to go eat lunch and now I'm even more hungry.

haha, I had to look and see what stove I was using.  last year I added a 20" flattop griddle to my cooking equipment, but it was after that trip.  sure is nice to be able to cook hashbrowns, bacon and eggs for breakfast on the griddle outside.

  • Had a change in plans, so with only a month, we are going to drive up to Hudson Bay.

From southern Michigan, it's about 2400 miles round trip. The research I've done, it's all paved and in good condition (we'll see).

This looks awesome, cool setup! Do you fish in that lake you mentioned?

I haven't yet, I got out of fishing for the last few years, never seams to be enough time..  but there are lots of lakes closer for when I get a chance to start up again.
