395 to the 50 in Nevada

That's the way I always go. Way better than 50 and having to go around the lake imho.

Thanks, I will be going from the 395 towards Tahoe,

I think they are great roads and use them when in the area. I lived in Gardnerville for a few years and went that way numerous times.

Sounds like you are in Tahoe would not use 207 Kingsbury grade as it is narrow on the lake side and steep on the valley side. I would stay on Hwy 50 which will take you to Carson City and 395/50 east. This is a good 4 lanes all the way. Have fun.
