IMHO even though it is 20 miles longer it is a much better drive to take 180 South of Holbrook to 377 then 377 to 260 west on 260 to 87 and 87 south to the 202 the 202 to the 60 and then 79 to Florence. Sounds worse than it is you can map it out on Google. Also Instead of KOA Holbrook check out Canyon Point Campground, Coconino, AZ if you decide to stay there instead do get reservations or you probably wont be able to get in.
