Albuquerque to Apache Junction
I would appreciate some insight. My wife and I are planning a trip from Albuquerque NM to Apache Junction AZ in early April.
My thoughts are to take I40 west to Holbrook AZ then drop down 77 to 377 to 260 and then on 87 the rest of the way towards Mesa and then to Apache Junction. My concerns are is this too curvy or narrow, we are pulling a 38' fifth wheel with our pick up? I have thought about just staying on I40 all the way to Flagstaff but that seems like it would be the long way around and I'd have to deal with (heavy) traffic in the Phoenix area.
About 5 years ago we took HWY 60 out of Apache Junction up through Globe, Sho Low and through Snow Flake to Holbrook to catch I40. That was with a significantly lighter fifth. I'm just a little concerned now that we have a heavier trailer.
I welcome any and all comments.
Thanks,
Dan
