- diazr2ExplorerWe liked Centennial Park just outside the city. We don't use campground facilities so I cannot attest to those but the camp sights were not tight and it was very pleasant. Stayed there in September for a few days.
- DrewEExplorer III've also stayed at Centennial Park. It seemed okay to me, nothing fancy at all, but not terrible. The washrooms were very institutional (but not filthy or decrepit), if memory serves.
- We stayed at this place the last trip to Anchorage. Golden Nugget RV park

Hello, How was this campground, seemed like there were a lot of complaints about the really small sites and the permenamt old mobile homes there??
Thanks - PA12DRVRExplorerWith full disclosure that I've never used any of them for RV camping (but being an almost lifelong Los Anchorage resident);
- I've tented a bit at Centennial some time back; If I had to do it again, I'd just drive the extra 10 miles to Eagle River and tent at the State Park campground; however, there was nothing significantly wrong with Centennial and if one's focus is seeing the "city" of Anchorage, Centennial is that much closer.
- I didn't stay there, but 2 years ago, when I was faced with a 6-week stay while a house was being remodeled, I had decided that I'd borrow the DIL's trailer and stay at Golden Nugget. Based solely on observation, it is the best of the in-town RV parks. I didn't end up using it as I was able to get out to and stay in our remote cabin for the relevant 6-week period.
- There are a couple of other RV parks around Anchorage (Ship Creek, off Northern Lights, and a couple of others). Wouldn't touch them with the proverbial 10-foot pole. - Two_HandsExplorerWe have stayed at the Golden Nugget on two different trips. Spaces are tight, but we have been in much worse. Facilities are just fine and we will stay there again.
- RoyFExplorerWe camped at Centennial in a fifth-wheel and would use it again. There was no electric hookup, but you could run generators to keep the batteries topped up. We use our trailer bathroom, so I don't worry about camp washrooms.
- tony_leeExplorerWalmart and Cabellas were far better value for the money last season
- Potions of Golden Nugget are for mobile homes. Portion we stayed at were above average for Anchorage.
- MACHZERExplorerThanks everyone and any other postings coming.
I usually take google reviews with a open mind but the overwhelming bad reviews of the Anchorage campgrounds were worrisome.
