Baja Guidebook Update

While I generally agree that online "Can" be more up to date. When I go to many of the Baja web sites I find the dates of the Updates and posts are years old and the site has clearly not been updated in a long time.

As for Moon handbooks. They operate just like any other popular guidebook the research is being done now (2015) for the 2016 edition. With computers running the process from writing to layout to the printing presses, time to publication has been shortened considerably over the old days.

All in all I have gotten as much (or more) bad information from the web on any given subject as I have from more traditional publications. It's not a panacea. Just another tool.

Rob: So true. Our own Mexwanderer used to publish a guide book but even he gave that up. There are still some good general guide books but they are for backpackers and tourists not for RVing. Moon once sent me on a road that was torn up 10 years before the publication date of the book!

There is a lot of good information in All of the existing guide books, however there is more up to date information that changes daily available on line.
I doubt that the regular printed material will continue much longer. Look at Your regular Daily Newspaper if You have any doubts . Ours is not much more than a 8 page Brochure these days, Ten Years ago it had several sections and was teaming with advertising and News Articles!

Moon's books are usually 2 years out of date when they are published.
