Beef(f meat) while travelling into the states

A few years ago they took a beef roast from us also but that was when the mad cow thing was happening. We live in a border city and camp a lot in the U.S. They sometimes ask if we have wild game meat as that is a no no. We always take beef from here and when we run out we buy it there. There is a weight limit on beef. Vegetables should be in the original package and have written on it that it is a product of Canada or the U.S. Right now eggs and chicken are on the banned list. I usually call then right in Detroit as that's where we cross. When we are out west and cross into the U.S to come back home I find whatever was good to go when crossing into Detroit is good out there in Montana as well.

Make all the calls you want but it don't matter when you are at the border, learned that a few yrs. ago, they took my smoke venison and beef anyway's, border guards don't alway's have the up to date info.

No problem yesterday crossing beef hot dogs into the US, agent didn't even want to see them?

Our first trip in the motorhome to the U.S. a couple years ago, they took all my dog food and milkbone biscuits because they were not in the original bags.
We joke about it now saying to our American friends, good thing they did not find that bazooka under the seat! America is safe now that they don't have Canadian dog food there!

We crossed from Canada into the US on August 6th, no problem with beef or pork, either fresh or frozen.

You never really know until you try to go through. When I passed back into the states they even read the TV dinner box and took out what they did not want me to have, or maybe they were looking for there supper.

Technically speaking, you'd be asked to dump raw meats if they asked and you declared possession. Cooked meat is ok. So if it were cooked and frozen or in the fridge, it's fine.
