Bonner Bridge (NC Rt 12) Closed

Just announced this evening, the Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet is closed with little or no notice. Unsafe conditions called "sand scouring" under the bridge pilings is the cause. Length of closure is unknown tonight. The only way off the island is going to be a ferry to Stumpy Point, NC starting tonight.
