Boondocking near Lake Havasu

If it is BLM land, you're probably in good shape. Here is a link to information on disbursed camping on BLM land. Pay attention to the clickable map, and the restrictions on how many days you're staying and you should be fine.

That is not BLM land. You are right in the middle of the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation.

Is the Geocommunicator.gov not accurate? It looks like we would be right on the eastern edge of the BLM land.... I thought that was the BLM's official site, if not let me know please. Thanks.

If those coordinates are correct, Dave is right, it's on the reservation in California and I don't think they allow camping. There are plenty of Boondocking areas around Lake Havasu City on the Arizona side of the river. You need to make sure it's BLM and not State Trust land otherwise you will need a permit from the state of Arizona. The state never enforced the permit until last year when they started asking campers to leave if they didn't have a permit.

Anyone planning on getting off the pavement in AZ should get a permit. That way you don't have to worry about it and it's only $20. See AZ Recreation Permit Form.. You have to get it via snail mail but they do a quick turnaround.

Yes it is on the edge of BLM land but the land east of it is reservation land not public land.

34.420996, -114.198723 BLM, Standard Wash, poor area as it is the open off-roading area.
34.335278, -114.137020 The "steps". This is state land and needs the permit.

Note that there is no boondocking on the lake side of hwy 95 south of town.
