We are planning to be in Branson for a few days and I was hoping that there was a non-goatpath road to take us to Bentonville for the Chrystal Bridges Museum.

We are hoping not to drive something like "The Tail of the Dragon" to get there. (We are just a little too old to enjoy that stuff.)

We visit the area often and have driven Hwy 62 many times, mostly with the 36' 5'r. The road is fine, yes, it's curvy and some hills but not bad and very pretty. You didn't ask but there's a COE park just outside of Rogers, Prairie Creek, 1/2 price if you have a senior pass. It's very hilly but sites 73 - 79 are for decent sized rigs. There are other sites that are long enough but hard to get into. It's right on Beaver Lake and a short distance to the museum. RV parks are not plentiful in the area.

We live in Shell Knob, about 30 miles west of Branson. I would NOT go the 62 route!! The 412 route would be a good choice and here is another option: 65 south to 86, west to 76/86, west to 37, south to 62 and follow it into Bentonville.

I would go with Bobs suggestion unless you love our hilly winding roads. (

If you take 65 south and then take 412 toward Springdale it is a much easier drive than 62. It is longer and you have to go back north on I540 to Bentonville exit 88 to get to Crystal Bridges but well worth the trip. Once you get off at exit 88 go left and follow the signs.

One possibility is to head out of Branson on US 65 then take MO 86/AR 21 to Eureka Springs, AR (which is worth a visit if you have time.) You would have taken US 62 @ Berryville, and US 62 will take you all the way to Bentonville.

It has been several years since we have made that route, so I can't comment on the recent road conditions. I don't know of any route between Branson and Bentonville that is anything like an interstate--slow driving, that's for sure, but I always enjoy it. It is only a 90 mile trip but I would allow almost two hours (not counting any stops.)
