Broken trailer spring

Hi Tequila: I looked for a truck suspension shop online. Could not find one closer than 200 km away. One shop told me to call this number: 322 290 1661. I don't think they speak any English. Probably if you get their address and take the spring to them it would be easier. Most of the shops are closer to Guad. Good luck. There is a small marine bparts store that carries some trailer stuff. But for boat trailers. I don't have an address but we were walking one day and found it.

Yes it broke near where it attaches

Thnks mosheh, I manged to find on on google that is a spring shop and is at km 8.5 on the tepic PV highway Muelles Sandoval de Vallarta. I will phoen them and see if I can pin down exactly where they are. I have to go to Tachos on Fri anyway. At least I have one spare to fix it, it makes me nervous not to have another. If one has broken maybe the others are weak. if I can get heaftier ones made, I will. I do not know why they don't extend the second leak all the away across. This one broke right where the second leaf ends. Worst case scenario is I have a friend joining me in month, i will have him bring down some more spares. I only picked up the one I have as an afterthought.

PV is one of the few places we haven't had springs replaced.

Good shop in Tepic...... You are a pro, but I'd look more toward Compostela, and/or head out to the Pemex, and ask there. That's how we found a great one in Los Mochis.

Found one in La penita that had one. Boyght 2. They are a bit heftier than the originals

When you have the time and energy, do take your trailer in and have the springs modified. We did much better with breakage on our coach after they made more springs longer, heftier and wrap around the attachment.

Unfortunately most of the trailer mfrs. buy the axle and springs as a package. Or someone like Lippert manufactures the frame and suspension. In either case the springs are usually made in China. Poor quality steel. Trequila: Both Edmonton and Calgary have spring manufacturers. High quality ! Standens is one of the best.

Never heard of anyone carrying spare springs, but then again, I never knew any one who hauled a trailer to Mexico !

Longer ? Did they move the shackle attachment point ?
