Bryce to Provo UT Alternatives?

We're in no particular hurry and like to stay off Interstates but figure its always good to ask - heading north out of Bryce I see several alternatives all within 10 miles or so of each other distance-wise.

89 to 20 to I15

then with a short stretch of I70

89 to US50 (@ Salina) to I15 (@ Scipio)

89 to UT28 (@Salina) to I15 (@Nephi)

89 to US6 to I15(@ Spanish Fork)

Comments? What would be easiest, interesting drive?

You probably already know this, but there is a restricted tunnel through Zion where you have to pay (and wait) for an escort through it, they have to shut it down one way, and "fleet" vehicles through a few at a time, this can back things up in busy times (peak season), there is also a max height limit, but all RV's and TC's should fit

My favorite way from Bryce to Provo is 89 to 6.

I prefer to use 2 lane roads whenever possible.

Good luck getting a spot for 'The Wave'. We did it the end of May a couple years ago and there were 125 waiting for the coveted 10 spots. Many had tried again 3-4 days in a row. They come from all over the world. However, we got picked the first day. If you win the lottery be sure to take more water than you'd ever think of doing. I know from experience. 😞 It was 100 degrees for our hike and there's no shade. We stayed at Coral Pink Sands State Park and it's very nice with shade trees.

RE: your question...we've done all of them with our 40' with no problems. We prefer to stay off interstates as much as possible. Have a great trip!

Definitely, we'll be in area awhile - Zion, Coral Pink, hike the Wave if we're lucky etc. Just picked Bryce as northernmost point.

Since you say you are not in a hurry, you might consider visiting Cedar Breaks National Monument if it is open (usually opens in late May) and Fremont Indian State Park. Both are not that far off US-89.

All of those routes are fairly easy. I live just south of Provo. Going up 89 to Spanish Fork is 2 lane highway up to 6. You'll pass through various small towns and farmland and valley grasslands. I like that route.

We used this route back in 2009. Nice scenic drive along the Sevier River with no real hills at all. Made a stop at the Walmart in Richland for supplies.

I have done the 12 to 89
89 to 20
20 to I-15

There is a pull on the 20. It is also the preferred truck route.
