Charleston to Alpharetta

We plan on taking highway 26 out of Charleston to Greenville then 85 into Alpharetta , Ga. Are there problems with this route? We want to avoid Atlanta. We drive a 35ft 5er.
  • Alpharetta isn't on I85 - it's on GA-400. So you will need to make an adjustment to your routing. I85 off ramp to GA-120 Abbots Bridge Rd will take you into Alpharetta.
  • We use 26 when going to and from Charleston. Your only problem on 26 will be boredom. That is a long, flat road to Columbia. We usually go I-20 to Atlanta from there. 20 would put you in Atlanta around mid-town and a lot of traffic to get up to Alpharetta.
Depending on the time of day I-85 can be challenging (daylight to 10 AM or so) coming south into metro Atlanta.

Pleasant Hill Rd off 85 will take you into Alpharetta.
  • Those are interstate highways - what kind of problems do you think you might have? I guess I don't really understand what you are asking.
