Cherokee NC to Houston TX

Looks like US 441 to US 23, short distance on I-985 then I-85 into Alabama would be best ...

Planning to stop a few times along the way using my Passport America Account. Has anyone done so along this route (Cherokee NC to Houston TX) and have a GOOD Site recommendation ... will probably stay a couple of days at each location.

How about any RV Casino Parking (FHU) or quality P America sites close to them around Mobile or Biloxi>>>>???

It's I-59 north of Gadsden that was the problem. And the worst part, just north of Gadsden has been fixed. Now they are working from that point north to the Georgia state line.

OK, just one of many possibilities:

Bryson City, NC --> Murphy, NC --> Elijay, GA -->Gadsden, AL
(I've made this last leg several different ways)
@ Gadsden, IF you want to avoid I-59 you could take US 411 to near Birmingham. I have never found getting around Birmingham to be problem using the South bypass. I did find I-59 near Birmingham to be one of the roughest freeways. Maybe that has been fixed?

I-20 to Meridian, MS I-55 to I 12/10

And Houston.

if I-59 in alabama is on your final route, the northern section is very rough. someone here previously gave me a work around.
