Colorado Springs, CO to Olympia, WA - Best Route

Looking for advice for best route from Colorado Springs to Olympia. Don't mind a few hundred more miles if it's worth it. Trip will be in May. Driving a Ram 3500 dually, pulling a 40 foot fifth wheel.
  • We love the coast so would go I70 to Green River cut up to Salt Lake City then to Brookings OR from Brookings the 101 to Olympia

Lets see - normal Map route is 1433 miles and 22.15 hours let's see what happens with my route.

Let's add Buena Vista then Montrose on up to Vernal west around to Green River Then up to West Yellowstone around to Whitefish, west to Coeur d'Alene ---- then on over to Olympia.

So we added 401 miles - plus 11+ hours of driving and a trip of a lifetime (Buena Vista and the Collegiates - Gunnison and Crested Butte - Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP - Ouray - Colorado NM - Dinosaur NM - Flaming Gorge NRA - Jackson - Teton's - Yellowstone - Glacier NP - Flathead Lake - Coeur d'Alene and surrounds - and arrived at the destination refreshed and ready for Adventure.

You asked for the "BEST" route - sure we could add a LOT MORE but this a Route not a Vacation.

Let us know what you choose?
