Cooke City to Livingston, MT

Taking 212 to 89 on Google Maps shows "tolls" going that way. Does anyone know where the toll is. My paper maps do not show any toll on that route. Thank you. Betsy.
  • Ramyankee, You said you would only tow from Livingston to Cooke City. Not Cooke City to Livingston. I'm curious why that is insomuch as we want to go from Cooke City to Livingston. Thank you. Betsy.
  • Thank you for the info. We will not tow on the Beartooth. Just take the truck.
  • We have driven Class C and TT behind F150 both ways Cooke City to Livingston and the reverse. Going west on 212 to 89 is not a problem nor is the reverse. East to west either way across the Beartooth is crooked, steep, and for some people-hair raising. I love the road and have towed both ways on the Beartooth and will be doing it again. BUT, I am not towing a big 5th wheel.
  • Maybe that is what Google means. Didn't think of that. We have a 40' FW and will camp on 212 then take the truck on the Beartooth Hwy. Why not take that road from south to north? Just curious. Thanks for reminding me about the park entrance fee. Betsy.

Really will wait for those that have recently done that route. Don't know what they mean by toll.

What would you be towing? Because the only way I would tow that route is from Livingston to Cooke City, not the reverse. The road from Red Lodge to Cooke is scenic, an understatement, but I WOULD NOT recommend towing.

Lived in Livingston from 70 to 82 and don't remember tolls but you do need to go through the Park gates for entrance...
