Does anyone know if this route is good for pulling a 37' fifth wheel?

good good. a bit of truck traffic and some narrow and ruff spots on 13 but not bad. just not as good as the wyo side.

fuel price used to be true but baggs has caught up and now its guess weather you can save there or not. have seen baggs 10 to 15 cents more at times than craig. if you do fill in baggs make sure to use the conoco on the south end of town. much cheaper than the store coming in from the north.

if traveling at dawn, dusk or after dark , careful of dear or elk. they are most active then. day light just watch.this would apply to 13 all the way to rifle and 40 east to steam boat. 40 west to just past elk springs but not quite as much.

each to his own. i like the wide open sage brush county, and enjoy traveling there. changes after you cross into co. to more hills, juniper and brush. continues that way to rifle south and steam boat east on 40.

only big hill is coming out of wyo heading south at the state line into co. its long with a good run out so not so dangerous even if it sneaks up on you. do gear down if you heading south though.

best of luck and have a nice run

Top in baggs to get fuel it is always cheaper than in Craig .the station is at the bottom of baggs pass on the left. Also if traveling at night keep a good eye out for elk crossing the road

Other than being a very lonely, isolated, no services route, the roadway is very good and no problem for any size RV. Just be sure to have full tanks. Craig to Baggs is mostly ranching country and north of Baggs you get into more of a high desert. Its all 2 lane, sometimes with good shoulders, sometimes no shoulder, but with very little traffic. nothing steep, just lots of rolling hills, up & down between 6500 to 7000 ft.
