driving from arizona to wa state

Left Yuma last Thursday to Fresno. From Fresno to Eugene and then on to Birch Bay,WA. No problems with fuel. I used Elks Lodges and the casino in Corning,CA. Had work done in Eugene so stayed at the repair facility. Drove the Tacoma/Seattle route at 60+MPH today. Fastest I have ever gone thru Seattle.

We have been up and down 93 in Nevada a few times and it can be pretty lonely. The only time my 2015 RAM has thrown a code was 15 miles South of Wells. I have a saying that help on I-5 is twenty miles ahead or behind you. In the middle of Nevada in is 100 miles ahead or behind you.

The route via Reno and Western Nevada has many lonely stretches also. We have gone that way a few times also.

Larry, good to hear that you are about to be able to head North.

My DW says that if we do return to the NW this summer she wants to do it on I-5.

The way they are tracking movement is by cell phones. They say people are moving around because cell phones change towers. It is a little confusing as I can change towers by moving around my property.
Eastern Washington has more agricultural operations so many people are working.

There's no panicking in the Puget Sound. Yes things are pretty quiet. Look at WSDOT traffic and web cams to see for yourself. The latest I read, the state is sending some ventilators to NY because the immediate need isn't as high as anticipated. The governor is concerned that the rest of the state isn't taking the social-distancing as seriously. Maintaining distancing at popular parks and trails is also a concern; all fishing access was closed down a couple of weeks ago because of crowds.

Sorry to hear about your wife's leg. Hope she recovers soon. We plan on being in Wenatchee on May 4th, which is our governors quarantine cutoff. No doubt that date will change though.

The WA trouble zone is King and surrounding counties. Rural areas are lightly touched. So avoiding I-5 might be wise, unless you run into panicking locals.

The place yo might need to be armed is a truck stop or Walmart, not a couple of miles off the road.

Mesquite, NV, I-15. Walmart, Smiths grocery open. Flying J, west exit is a good stop, overnight parking, restrooms, showers and liquor store open. Solstice Motorcoach Resort, easy off the interstate, is open (We’re there now). In fact, several Canada motor homes are here in transit.

I recommend Flying J or Pilot through UT. We found closed restrooms at a Phillips 66 c-store in Springville.
