I just drove through the war zone area this afternoon.
The tree crews literally cut the trees at the edge of the lane of travel. Tree trunks and branches are hanging out and lying on the shoulder and in some cases a few short inches into the right lane.
I was in my Dually towing an 18' car carrier with a car on it.
I found it navigable but you had damned sure better be alert. The safety margin of having the shoulder simply is not there for about 50-75 miles.
And at the exits that lead to Panama City, the traffic was piled up and the gas lines were very long.
Fuel up well outside the areas from about mile marker 85 to about 175 and you should be fine.
