- Retired_JSOExplorerNo real problems or any tight switchbacks all the way to Blairsville. I’ve pulled a fiver, travel trailer and 40’ class A pulling a Honda on a dolly many, many times both ways. There is a few truck lanes but not a steep grade either way. Now 129 south out of Blairsville is a different animal.
- LwiddisExplorer IIIf the state highway department doesn’t say “no” or “strongly not advised,” I go. Be worry free! No need to “know” all the possible challenges.
- IvylogExplorer IIICompared to how it used to be it’s straight as an arrow. OK, that’s not entirely true as after passing the AT there is one 180 degrees turn. Beautiful road that the GA DOT straightened several sections at a time, even one near Clayton recently. You will not have any problems and the biggest climb is after Hiawassee.
