Highway 84 across Louisanna

We will be using this route going from East Texas to Natchez Miss. on Wednesday. I have never driven this portion of 84 and just wondering about the general condition and any low clearances I need to be aware of. Thanks.
  • It is designated highway for motor carriers, trunk road for full size OTR trucking, 8 1/2 x 13 1/2 foot clearances in Louisiana. Sections I've driven, Natchitoches into Texas as far as US-259, have been as pleasant as just about any other major two-lane in Louisiana. Should be no problem for a 30 foot TT.
  • A few years back I drove a Class A with toad from Valdosta, GA to Waco, TX.
I remember US84 as a very pleasant, easy going drive. Enjoyed it.
  • I do not think 84 goes close to Alexandria, but it is a good road and scenic. The closer to Vidalia, La and Natchez, Ms you get the better it is. If you are looking for a place to stay I highly recommend Riverview RV Park in Vidalia. Very nice park and right on the river. Happy travels and enjoy.
  • The section from Alexandria to Natchez is not bad. This is all I have driven.
