Hwy 2 across the northern U.S.

I will be leaving the West Glacier, MT in a couple weeks. I will be heading to the U.P. of MI. Has anyone traveled HWY 2 across the northern tier of states? I am not in a big hurry and would like to take in some sites along the way. Any other route suggestions would be appreciated also.
  • As you are driving US 2, be very aware of the ascending and descending speed limits. The little municipalities and Indian Reservations fund their year end policeman balls out of the funds.

Probably in October or November. we seldom use the RV parks anyway. The VFW, Elks, and the local truck stops, Walmarts, are all good for over nighters. and they are free. We've even used the grain elevator's parking. :) The Farm folks are friendly, ask if you can pull out for the night, don't make a mess, or be a burden.

It's a nice ride the road is great, and most of the towns along the way have facilities, Go, no worries until the big freeze closes the dump stations. probably a month or two away.
Later in the year you'll encounter winds on the Mac bridge, it closes often.
