- earlvillestuExplorerI90 tollway in Illinois has major construction this summer, from I294 to Rockford. I'd suggest as an alternate taking I80 to I39,then north to pick up I90 again at Rockford.
- pauljExplorer III90 across southern Minnesota has had a reputation for being rough - not because of potholes but because of tilted slabs.
- newkExplorerIt's fine through Wyoming and east at least to Rapid City.
over-and-out - ChooChooMan74ExplorerI90 through Mass isn't bad.
- BigdogExplorerI have always found that I-90 is usually in pretty good shapetill you get past Minnesota and then it starts to go to heck.
When I wuz just a little kid, well I was of driving age,one of my biggest disappointments was the Pennsylvania Turnpike.Living in Washington we didn't have anything like that and in '56,we did a trip from Olympia to Philly,to N.C. and back thru Colorado and home in 6 weeks with 5 kids in a '55 DeSoto.I had read about how wonderful the turnpike was in Popular Science and Popular Mechanics and when we finally got to ride on it,it was the worst POS highway we drove on the WHOLE trip. - Tom_BarbExplorer

You should contact WSDOT for accurate info, go to their site and see the pass conditions as well as camera sites plus other stuff you may need. For ID, MT and other eastward locations on I-90 check with the transportation departments in states you're interested in.
I can see the passes from here and I watch the new/weather, it is the eastern end I wonder about. We will be using Stevens Pass US 2 to Spokane when we leave. then 90 most of the way. If it isn't beat up too bad. - IslandmanExplorerYou should contact WSDOT for accurate info, go to their site and see the pass conditions as well as camera sites plus other stuff you may need. I was thinking more about back east. Ill. In. Ohio, where the winter really froze up. We will be traveling from Oak Harbor to Albany N.Y. late April. - Francesca_KnowlExplorerThe pavement on Washington I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass isn't bad at all, but this week they're starting to remove the old snowshed up near Hyak, and that's going to cause big delays in both directions until that project is done. Should take about two weeks...Link to article.
