- lane_hogExplorer IIIf you're ultimately planning to cut across US-24 and up to Kalamazoo... I change my answer.
Take I-70 to US-231 and stay as far away from Chicago as you can. - RicBExplorer

I notice you're from Kalamazoo. If you are heading to Michigan, take I57. There is little difference between I57/I55 and I80 from I55 to I57 is TERRIBLE.
Yes, Kzoo bound.I will likely head east on 24 from I-55 or I-57. Then north on 421 or 31. May possibly spend a few days in Shipshawanna depending on weather. It will be late October. - dturmModeratorI notice you're from Kalamazoo. If you are heading to Michigan, take I57. There is little difference between I57/I55 and I80 from I55 to I57 is TERRIBLE.

Depending on where you're coming from, I-255 is what I've found is the the easiest/flattest way around traffic and downtown if coming on either I-55 or I-44.
I'm not nearly as wild about I-270 because of construction over the last couple years. - rk911Explorer

Chicago are is a big place. Where in Chicago area? - I-55. I've traveled both extensively. Live just a few miles from I-55.
