Illinois I-55 or I-57

Which is a better road from St. Louis to Chicago area...I-55 or I-57?
  • If you're ultimately planning to cut across US-24 and up to Kalamazoo... I change my answer.

Take I-70 to US-231 and stay as far away from Chicago as you can.

Yes, Kzoo bound.I will likely head east on 24 from I-55 or I-57. Then north on 421 or 31. May possibly spend a few days in Shipshawanna depending on weather. It will be late October.

  • I-55. Hands down...

Depending on where you're coming from, I-255 is what I've found is the the easiest/flattest way around traffic and downtown if coming on either I-55 or I-44.

I'm not nearly as wild about I-270 because of construction over the last couple years.
