- marcsbigfoot20bExplorerThere are lots of fish up and down that pier. I see workers fishing it all the time but it is closed to the public.
Last year I got a nice 10 lb grouper 3/4 of the way out on the RV park side with a spear gun.....lucky perfect shot right behind the gills. Half of it is still in my freezer. - mexicorussExplorer II

The pier should be used as a fishing pier. It will be a long time before the first ship arrives.
It's a departure location -not a receiving location or port of call.
If you are a Mexican family that has never cruised....you may want to cruise your home waters.....if you travel like a lot of us do...you want your whole family to go.....little Sophia doesn't have a passport, she cant go, nobody goes.
Here comes Rocky Point Cruise Terminal. A place where as a Mexican you can board (without the hassle of a passport) (without the hassle of going to the USA) with your whole family. Cruise Mexican waters without ever stepping foot in the USA.
I wonder how many on the first ship sailing (small 1500 person vessels) will be from the USA? I think it will be us sailing the first ship, and from projections done probably the first 6 months are sold out.
No, I agree, fish from the pier as long as you can. That won't last for you. There is a cruise market here. It will be satisfied. It may just not be "your" thing.
Grab a beer and have a great day. - hypoxiaExplorerThe pier should be used as a fishing pier. It will be a long time before the first ship arrives.

Gus Brown the son of the owner says that the Reef will remain until the economy improves for the last part of the marina phase can be completed. This could be a long time to come. This not to say that the Pier will not be completed just the private docks behind the new cruise terminal. Lots of exciting things down here south of the Border.
