So let me understand this.
* Capture people to use as paddlers only.
* They must have had a lot of sea canoes that need to be constantly
paddled.
* Amputate legs below knees.
* Captive is virtually useless to the tribe for any other labor
around the camp.
* Since the captive is a slave, seems like an unlikely scenario of
human resource management.
* On the other hand, the captives ain't running away from camp
anytime soon!
